We're pretty sure you know how to take a selfie! If you have a photo that looks anything like these 6 great examples, you can definitely use that!

But just in case you're unsure, here are our top tips...

1. Good Lighting

Take your photo in natural daylight if you can. If not, any well lit room will be perfect too. Make sure there's no glare from screens like laptops and televisions!

2. Angle: Eye Level or Higher

Hold your phone out at an arm's length, and try to angle your lens at eye level or higher. Don't take your selfie from below your neck - no one wants to see up your nostrils! Feel free to tilt your head slightly to capture your 'good side'. And don't worry if you're facing the opposite direction to your chosen costume - we'll flip it to match your photo. And remember, you don't have to look directly at the camera!

3. Expression

If you want to add a bit of extra personality to your artwork, why not pull a great facial expression to suit your costume? You can look stern and angry as The General, or look relaxed and content as The Princess.

Note: We do not advise uploading photos with accessories such as sunglasses and hats (normal glasses are fine). This could result in the final portrait not being as good as it would, without these accessories in it.

Black and white photos will result in a black and white final portrait.

If your photo does not meet our requirements, we will contact you for a replacement. If no replacement is provided then we will continue with the design, using the original photo. Please note the final design might not be the best result possible if your original photo is used.
